…continued from the last blog…

Ok, so before I continue with the story I want to acknowledge that yes, I know I’m behind on my blogs and I want to assure you that I’m working on getting caught up. Things have been busy and I’ve been focusing on my videos but I am determined to keep up with these blogs as well so… ok, with that said, here we go with part 2!

Previously, on the blog.

Pastor William led us into lady’s house where we visited with her for quite a while before we prayed over her. When we finally started praying everything seemed fine until a few minutes into the prayer. All of a sudden this woman began freaking out, trying to pull away from us, and was moaning as if in pain. Pastor told us to pray harder, so we did. I stole a glimpse and looked into her eyes but they weren’t her eyes. There was a shadow of something else behind those brown eyes that night. Eventually she calmed down but strangely enough, was not aware that she had acted weird in front of us. Crazy, I know, but that wasn’t the only strange thing that happened that night.

Once we finished praying for the woman, Pastor informed us that we would be praying over her house. By this point, I am low key freaking out myself. Of course I’m aware that I just had my first encounter with visible demonic oppression/possession and I wasn’t exactly chomping at the bit to explore the rest of her house; however, my teammates walked up the steps with such bravery that I couldn’t be the only one who didn’t go so… I walked up the steps.

When I reached the top of the stairs I turned left and entered a small bedroom. I don’t remember many details of this bedroom save one. About midway down the wall to my right was a curtain that acted as a door separating a small laundry room from the bedroom. Immediately I felt that I should open the curtain and pray over that space, but you better believe I didn’t want to. The room already had an eerie feeling but opening curtains and exploring dark corners, no thank you!

As you’ve probably guessed though, I ignored the feeling to run away. I pulled back that curtain, checked the corners of the dark laundry room, and began to pray with all the boldness I could muster. As soon as I pulled back that curtain though, I felt a heaviness fall over my body. Have you ever been home alone and you just have this creepy thought that someone is in the house with you? So you lock all the doors, check every room, and look under the beds until that uneasy, paranoid feeling passes. Now imagine that feeling in every part of your body. That’s the best way I can describe what I felt at that moment. I was rooted to the spot because that feeling of not being alone was so strong and real.

I’m not sure how long I stood in that spot, but I know I didn’t leave until I felt that heaviness go. It was a battle. When they say spiritual warfare they really mean it! It was like being entwined in a power struggle. A struggle between the Holy Spirit and the evil one for that small piece of real estate. And me not being a seasoned exorcist of any sort was quoting whatever Scripture came into my mind about fighting the demonic realm. I declared God’s presence, power, and dominion over that small space and I was determined to be braver than I actually felt (thank you Holy Spirit for that courage). Towards the end of my battle, I am sure that I heard low growling. Like a dog who is protecting his bone from thievery, I swear I heard something growling in the corner of that laundry room… but who knows… right? Either way, that prayer and that evening was one of the most intense spiritual experiences I have ever felt.

Eventually, we left that lady’s house, but they will travel with me wherever I go. You don’t easily forget experiences like the one I had. I was reminded of the fact that there are forces we cannot see that are more powerful than we can imagine. However, I was also flooded with the truth about how Jesus is MORE powerful! Jesus is the conqueror and in Him we are victors, sons, and daughters with POWER! Do not forget that though we live in the present, Jesus is not bound by time. He has literally already one the victory, He has locked Satan and his demons in the pit, their fate is sealed, and their strength CANNOT compare! Thank you Jesus for allowing us to fight for your name and your kingdom in your authority!

Jesus, Jesus, You make the darkness tremble.

Jesus, Jesus, You silence fear.

“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.”

– Deuteronomy 28:7

  1. Praying for you, your team and your squad, Connor. May He continue to give you boldness to speak His name in those dark places that you may bring His light to all those that you encounter.

“For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways…….”
